Delete your HitchPiggy account

This page explains how to delete your account with HitchPiggy (operated by HitchPiggy, LLC), the rideshare app at hitchpiggy.com and in the HitchPiggy apps for iPhone and Android.

How to request deletion

1. Sign in to your HitchPiggy account (on this page or in the app).
2. On this page, type DELETE in the box below and press "Delete my account". You can also do this from Profile → Delete account in the app.
3. Deletion happens right away. You are signed out and your account cannot be restored.

Can't sign in? Email hello@hitchpiggy.com from the email address on your account with the subject "Account deletion request". We will confirm and delete the account within 30 days.

What is deleted

• Your sign-in account, email address and password
• Your profile: name, photo, bio, city, phone number, emergency contact, vehicle details and preferences
• Phone verification records
• Recurring ride schedules, block lists, and your notifications
• Your email updates subscription
• Reviews other people wrote about you

Your upcoming rides are cancelled (passengers are notified) and your pending seat requests on upcoming rides are cancelled.

What is kept, and why

• Reviews you wrote stay visible, shown without your name. Kept while the ride history exists.
• Past rides and seat requests stay without your name, so other travelers' history stays accurate. Kept while the ride history exists.
• Messages you sent in ride chats stay visible to the other people in that chat, without your profile. Kept so they keep their conversation record.
• Safety reports involving you: deleted automatically 2 years after the report, to protect the community and handle disputes.
• Ride cancellation records: deleted automatically 2 years after the cancellation.
• Feedback you sent us: deleted automatically 1 year after you sent it.
• Email delivery records (which emails were sent to which address): deleted automatically 90 days after sending.

Automatic deletion runs every day. To ask for earlier removal of any of these records, email hello@hitchpiggy.com.
